Superannuation options nearing Retirement

Written and accurate as at: 15 November 2014

Generally you will only be able to access your superannuation if you can meet specific benefit payment standards known as “conditions of release”. For most people this will be when they permanently retire after reaching their preservation age, when they turn 65 or if they terminate an employment arrangement after age 60.

There are a range of options available to those able to access their superannuation. Each option has a range of benefits and some may be more suitable options for you depending on your situation and specific retirement plans. It pays to seek advice to determine which strategy, or combination of strategies will suit you best.
