What will Australia look like in 2055?

In this video, Dr Karl a well-known Australian science commentator, investigates the challenges and opportunities Australia may face in the future based on the results of the Intergenerational Report – a projection into the future.

The report finds that Aussies will live longer and continue to have one of the longest life expectancies in the world. In 2055, life expectancy at birth is projected to be 95.1 years for men and 96.6 years for women.

There is projected to be around 40,000 people aged over 100 in 2055 a dramatic increase on the 5,000 Australian centenarians today. This video has been politically controversial lately, but the video content itself is valuable information.
