It is probably fair to say that we have all spotted some form of money on the ground whilst walking. Did you detour from your path to retrieve the money or did you continue walking?

When we think about our personal finances, a financial plan is a road map for you to follow so that you can work towards reaching your financial goals and objectives. Along the way, there may be distractions that challenge your ability to stick to your financial plan. It may be as simple as a small impulse buy that depletes a percentage of the capital currently invested in an existing savings plan.

One approach is to recognise and evaluate the importance of these distractions, and then put them in perspective, namely, how will this distraction impact the big picture of what you want to achieve.
