Property is quite a popular investment within Australia, and there are a number of sub-categories of property that you can invest in. These categories can include, but are not limited to:
- Residential (homes and units)
- Retail (shopping centres)
- Commercial (office buildings)
- Agricultural (farming)
- Tourism and leisure (hotels, motels, resorts, theme parks, casinos)
- Industrial property
- Infrastructure (e.g. toll-ways, airports)
Property can provide investors with an income return as well as capital growth.
The return from property will be dependent on the quality of the tenant and the rent paid as well as the location and type of property such as residential, industrial or commercial.
