Costs
Palliative care services are often free (covered under Medicare and/or private health insurance, depending on your health insurance policy); however, it is important to note that there may be some costs. For example:
- Hospice and hospital care (e.g. paying an excess if you have private health insurance that covers palliative care and you go to a private hospital).
- Additional services, such as hiring specialised medical equipment for use at home or seeing a complementary therapist in a private practice.
