Investment options

Trustees have a greater range of investment options and full control over the investments purchased but extreme care is needed to make sure no investment rules are breached. There may be greater flexibility to purchase direct investments such as term deposits, direct property or direct shares.

Investment decisions may be limited based on the investment options offered
by the fund. Generally, an investment into direct property is not available. Buy and sell decisions are generally controlled by the manager although wrap accounts and master trusts can give greater decision-making control.

Pension options

An account-based pension or Transition to Retirement pension.

Potential to access a wider and more flexible range of pension options, including lifetime pensions.
