Residential Aged Care

Important Questions

Can I move to another home?
You are free to move to another residential aged care facility that is able to meet your accommodation and care needs, as long as they have offered you a place.

You will need to follow the guidelines of your agreement between your existing aged care service provider as to the process that is involved in leaving your current residential aged care facility – inclusive of any exit fees as well as the provisions around the refunding of any lump-sum style ‘refundable accommodation deposit’ (RAD) that has been paid.

It is important to keep in mind the time required to make the move to your new residential aged care facility. For example, if you take more than 28 days to move into your new residential aged care facility, the most recent applicable fee arrangements will apply.
